My philosophy

I consider it a privilege to join my clients on their journey. In a setting of safety, acceptance and encouragement we work collaboratively, building on your existing strengths. I utilize an eclectic treatment approach that includes insight oriented, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, solution-focused and mindful techniques depending on your unique needs for support.

Background

Among all mental health professionals, clinical psychologists have the most comprehensive education and training in the biological, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral aspects of human functioning. My clinical training and experience includes work with adults and children in a variety of settings including private practice, community mental health, college environment, elementary school, preschool, and home based family support.

  • Received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, San Francisco Bay Area in 2003. My dissertation research focused on developing a guidebook for professionals regarding respecting culture when working with preschool children and their families.

  • In 2013 co-founded the Santa Cruz Wellness Center.
